A note about this design:
The Houston Tile design was initially created with an established year of 1837 to reflect the year the city was incorporated and the first mayor was elected (“established” – June 5, 1837).

To better conform with other instances of the founding date of Houston, a migration of products featuring the Houston Tile design will occur with a change of the established year to 1836.  The city was founded by brothers Augustus C. and John K. Allen on August 30, 1836.
